Trip to the Past

I went home to Basilan yesterday afternoon for a speaker’s training. But i am here in Zamboanga again by 4 in the afternoon. I still have a lot of things to do. Anyway, i loved my stay there, i really enjoyed the time i had with my family, my bestest friends and the place itself. Places in Basilan have a special place in my heart. They bring lots of wonderful childhood memories to me.

I slept late, at around midnight but i woke up early because i have to go to mass at 7:30. I went with my best friend and sobrang true friend na si Mr. John Angelo "Blue2x" Francisco. Ezra wasn’t able to come with us because she was still asleep.hehe…

I really enjoyed with Blue! Never will be a dull time when we’re together. It was funny when we arrived we saw a man, "kumukuot sa pwet niya".hehe… And to think he was in the first few rows of the church.haha…

Then, we went to eat at Eathel’s Eatery. We each ate a pizza and a hamburger with cheese. Drinks? One mineral water for each of us. We then went to visit Ezra’s house to chat with her.

We then went to Menzi Brgy to buy halo halo! The BEE favorite. Blue2x, Eunice, Ezra!hehe…

_darkshad1051Ang weird ng pakiramdam pag nasa Basilan ako, i can be myself and i am complete. Anyway, i am now ready for periodics. Inspired nako.

I miss Kharlie! Why did you have to go? Why did you have to leave me all alone? Sorry, di kita nadalaw at nadalhan ng flowers!

I missed Berx!hmwah…

… and have you ever thought that “mr. kumukuot” did later receive Christ, held hands with his “katabi” during the Lord’s Prayer or even during the exchange of peace - through same hands that he used to scratch (gently or aggressively; ikaw man ang nakakita) on his “pwet”? versatility of human hands, indeed!

hi eunice! like you I spent my high school in Zamboanga, though I started ealier with the last two years of elementary. Then of course, the 8 years of my college were spent away from home. . I can still feel the nostalgia and homesickness I felt back then.Everytime I took the ferryboat back home, I felt jubilant yet peaceful when the island is on sight. The blue calm waters of basilan strait felt like familiar arms cradling me.The sight of the mangroove trees made my heart go pitter patter as if I was going to my first disneyland trip.Indeed going home felt so good..that I never wanted to leave the place again. But basilan of those days is not like basilan today. I love the Old isabela much much better because everybody knew everyone, and the streets were safe, and since we had no regular electricity, we spent the nights playing in the streets and talking about vampires and ghosts.My..the best times of my life were spent in Isabela.!! hehehe..thanks for sharing your blog. so this is what a blog is all ablout. take care and go reach your dreams. Wherever you go,, dont forget..there is one beautiful place in this world that holds the best childhood memories you and I are fortunate to have.
